LOVING MY HAND-ME-DOWN CORDUROY

A couple years ago I walked into a store called Talbots here in Canada. They had beautiful corduroy pants in a variety of colors. Unfortunately, I ended up leaving the store empty handed due to them being a bit pricey. I will get back to the Talbots experiece shortly but first let me share with you why I started loving the corduroy material.

I consider myself lucky to receive a hand-me-down every once in a while from my stylish mother. This fall, she handed me a black corduroy jacket. At first, I was hesitant to accept since I tend to think of corduroy of somewhat an old fashioned term and material. However, as I wore it for the first time, I had changed my mind about my preconceiving opinion. Since this piece is black,  I will be able to pair it with pretty much anything this fall. It keeps me warm on those around 10 degrees C days. It feels light and roomy enough to wear a sweater underneath it. Now back to the Talbots story. I ended up regretting not buying the pants that day for quite some time. Therefore, I can't wait for this years winter sales and for sure will be heading to Talbots to pick me up some beautiful corduroy pants.

Today, I paired my black jacket with a Marled Forever 21 cardigan (purchased from last years winter sale), a pair of Gap streight denims, gold toned jewelry and a pair of classic grey moccasins (old). My companion for today is my all time favorite Tory Burch bag (double zip tote). I purchased this bag at the Tory Burch premium outlets for a fraction of the original price. So far it is holding up well and I think it is a stunning bag that can be paired with any outfit. The necklace is from H&M (summer 2015 collection).

Heading out for a lunch meeting today.
My mother's hand-me-down corduroy jacket.

The materials feel very comfortable and cozy on the skin.

Tory Burch double zip tote. (old version)

Marled textures go nicely with grey shoes.

I love to combine different textures and colors into my outfits. Today I mixed gold, grey, black and denim blue colors. This outfit includes a multi-toned effect cardigan, blue real straight denim jeans, black corduroy jacket and grey moccasins.

This is how gold toned jewelry on a marled cardigan looks like. The Bracelet is from H&M and the over sized ring I was gifted.

Here you can see how the textures and colors blend
 nicely together.

  2. It is great to get this kind of stuff form your mother. My mum usually provides me with beauty bits she bought but didn't like as much as she thought she would.
