Now is the time of the year for Cocktail Party invites. Personally, the word Cocktail Party always freaked me out a bit. Prior to my first ever Cocktail Party experience, I was horrified and couldn't wrap my head around what I was going to wear. In my imagination, Cocktail parties were THE hangout place for the most stylish of women. Women sitting cross legged, chatting away in perfect posture and poise, sipping away at their cocktail glasses ever so gently with the worry that red lipstick marks would show.
In all honesty, I placed my hesitant thoughts to the side and decided to attend and just be myself. My style, simple, classic and comfortable. So I bought a pretty silk blouse, matched it with fashion jewelry and light pair of jeans. I had a light cropped cardigan handy and carried a simple, black evening purse. I love to feel glamorous but not over the top glam. Therefore, I glammed up the top part of my outfit and kept the bottom part simple and comfortable. The Cocktail Party ended up being a wonderful experience, especially studying the stylish ladies. I ended up having tons of fun and even scored some compliments on my outfit. :)
Silk is a wonderful material for adding a bit of glam to your outfit. I love silk because it can be dressed up or down. It feels really comfortable on the skin as well. I find that silk brings out the best in jewelry. Its like the perfect platform to show off statement or non-statement jewelry pieces.
